UIF Annual Farm Report

The Annual Farm Report is a celebration of the success of farmland donated to the University of Illinois Foundation. I gathered the information for this project from UIF databases and College of ACES news reports, wrote all the copy, and organized the photos and blurbs into an aesthetically appealing format.

CSBS Case for Support

I wrote the Center for Social and Behavioral Sciences case for support with the instruction to speak to an audience of younger donors by focusing on themes of research. I decided to draw attention to individual researchers and projects funded by private donations. I gathered information on this institute from communication professionals and researchers within CSBS, as well as from stories published by the University of Illinois, and transformed scientific language into widely appealing, marketable copy.

Arrival film analysis

This is an analysis of the film Arrival, which I wrote under the guidance of Chicago Tribune media critic Michael Philips as part of the Roger Ebert Fellowship. This assignment required strong attention to detail, as well as an ability to accept criticism and make extensive changes quickly.

Ebert Fellowship projects

This is an article I wrote for RogerEbert.com as part of the Roger Ebert fellowship. For this assignment, I attended the True/False film festival at Mizzou and gained experience speaking directly to filmmakers and covering events.

I participated in this podcast for Illinois Public Media as part of a learning opportunity through the Ebert fellowship. Through this experience, I expanded my writing to an auditory medium and spoke to a wide audience on broad topics.
